Sarah attended cosmetology school in the Twin Ports after moving to Duluth from the Canadian border. Sarah found inspiration in the beauty industry from spending time with her grandma who was a salon owner. That inspiration motivated Sarah to gain the skill and drive to learn everything she could. Sarah excels in haircutting and had a passion for spa serices. Along with her growing Aveda knowledge Sarah has trained at the International Dermal Instute to reign her skills. Being a versatile cosmetologist keeps Sarah excited about her days.

Kaila is excited to be working back in a full service salon. Caring and protecting the environment for our future generations is something Kaila holds dear and appreciates Aveda for its mission. Being able to make her career out of her love of fashion, the beauty industry and environmental awareness is especially rewarding to Kaila. She excels in hair color, men’s fashion cuts, and make up. Kaila makes it a point to stay up to date on the latest trends while embracing timeless style.

Leanaya started her cosmetology career in 2007. She has been a Duluth resident and called it home since 2012, where she found Aveda. She fell in love with Aveda’s products, mission, and ritual and furthered her education in 2014 by becoming an Aveda Certified Color Educator. Although Leanaya’s passion is color, she is confident and established in her cutting skills as well. Leanaya enjoys having the ability and skill to create major changes with her guests.

Emilie started her career in cosmetology in 2002 graduating from the Aveda Institute, Minneapolis. Emilie loved the technical aspect of the craft and after spending time behind the chair decided to focus on education. At that point moved to Duluth to expand her career as a cosmetology instructor. Through her career Emilie had the opportunity to attend advanced training at the Sassoon Academies in both Santa Monica and Chicago. Finding herself back with Aveda she has strived to combine her love of technical abilities with creativity.

Tabatha’s career experience started in 2006. She grew up in Wyoming, MN and found her home in Duluth in 2014. Tabatha enjoys hair color and creating total looks for her guests. Tabatha also offers a lot of our spa services and takes pride in her ability to help guests relax and feel pampered.

Dereck started his career in 2001 at the Aveda Institute - Minneapolis. After attending cosmetology school, he found his calling back in the Twin Ports, where he was able to grow with his loyal clientele. It was during this time that his passion for education brought him to Cosmetology Careers Unlimited. It was here that his ability to be in tune with the latest trends, as he serviced his loyal guests, became what he was known for. His drive and excellence to grow his knowledge in hair brought him to the Sassoon academy in Santa Monica and his passion and commitment to skin care has given him close ties with the International Dermal Institute in Minneapolis.

Suzanne is excited to be part of the Rue 48 team and loves the relaxed welcoming vibe that it offers. She enjoys the flexibility of offering services in both the salon and spa. Suzanne’s thirst for knowledge has provided her with some amazing opportunities.
In 2014 she refined her hair cutting skills by attending advanced training at the Sassoon Academy, Chicago. On top of her exceptional cutting and coloring services, Suzanne’s true passion is skin care. Her skin care journey started in 2012 when she began learning and mastering Aveda’s facials, facial products and rituals. Due to her new-found passion and drive, she had the privilege of training with the former owner of Christal Center for Wellness. Her apprenticeship gave her the knowledge to carry on the signature healing skin treatments that were offered here in Canal Park. Suzanne’s specialized healing facial treatments address and nurture such issues as aging, pigmentation, and acne.

Please understand that when you forget or cancel your appointment without giving enough notice, we miss the opportunity to fill that appointment time, and clients on our waiting list miss the opportunity to receive services. Our appointments are confirmed 3 days in advance because we know how easy it is to forget an appointment that was booked in advance. Since the services are reserved for you personally we reserve the right to charge you for your cancellation or no show.
For safety and professional reasons whenever possible CHILDREN OR BABIES are not allowed to wait in the salon while parents/clients are getting services done. Our goal is to create a professional peaceful atmosphere for each individual guest, and can create a distraction for guests.
By state law NO animals are allowed to be in the salon unless there are service papers provided.
