Lake Superior Northshore – Marita Bujold
Growing up within a five minute walk of Lake Superior’s shores, Marita Bujold came to appreciate the scope of that landscape’s thrilling palette shaped by the forces of wind, sun and the seasons. Her landscapes reflect a respect for the boundless beauty of the earth. Her paintings of women and children are intended to highlight both the vital role that women play in preserving the earth’s agricultural biodiversity and the conviction that their rights to land, water, seed and
food sovereignty must be protected. Marita is an advocate for public education, and just local economies that empower people and protect the earth. She devotes considerable energy to building community through the arts. She
lives in St. Paul with her husband and two daughters.”
